JDS OPPORTUNISM IN KARNATAKA IS A BLUNDER

First of all elections are held to get the mandate of the people for a party to rule. In the process political parties play several tricks, manipulate the facts, abundant promises, etc., to win the elections. The aim of this is to influence the voter to vote for them. Therefore it is clear that it is a mind game, political parties dependent on the emotions and thinking capacity of the people. This kind of political game worked till before the globalisation 1990s as the literacy rate was low. Now the condition is not like that, people are not only literate, majority is educated and exposed to the global knowledge. Political parties  should realise this, the parties are still sticking to the old era tricks. Therefore the tricky point is political parties are getting trapped in their own web of gimmicks and lies. The means what they use to win the election would definitely haunt them back if they deviate from what they promised. Or when political parties go against the mandate, people may get furious on the political parties and may lose the people's trust.

Now the base of the argument is set, based on the above facts we will discuss what JDS is losing out in Karnataka. Karnataka elections were fought on complete casteism in this election. Anti-incumbency made the  Congress party desperate to play caste card of “Veerashaiva-Lingayat” division and complete anti Hindu stand of Siddaramaiah; JDS and BJP equally distanced themselves from the issue and fought the election against the Congress's caste politics. Siddaramaiah had thought, that only with Kuruba community votes he will rule the state forever. The mandate  was obviously expected one and Congress was rejected for it's divisive politics and people taught Siddaramaih a lesson of a life time for his unwanted arrogance. In this scenario, JDS should not have gone against the people's mandate. Though it is only 105 seats won by BJP a little lesser to the magic number, still the fact is the majority of the people chosen BJP. The first thing JDS will lose is “Veerashaiva-Lingayath” votes for joining hands with Congress. The JDS was slowly gaining ground in North-Karnataka region because of the fall of Congress, as the region is strong hold of Veerashaiva-Lingayath, JDS lost the opportunity and it will be washed-out from the region. In the hurry of becoming CM, Kumaraswamy has damaged the party and his future prospects. Now even “Gowda” community may think that the party is just an opportunistic and dynastic party. Community people may think, that JDS has joined hands with the party(Congress) which has never thought of doing good for the community. This will be seen as pure opportunistic behaviour, in politics this kind of parties with no  vision will be dumped soon.

Mr. Devegouda is again behind a failed idea, that to form an alternative front to counter BJP with the help of Samajwadi, TRS, TDP, BSP, CPI,CPM,etc., and make Kumarswamy PM? As Mr Gowda believes Kumarswamy's stars are in favourable position to be PM. A good idea, however the time has not ripen yet to take that risk.  But in his own astrological language PM Modi's stars are more stronger to be PM than any other and no one can touch him till 2024 [just like that :)]. Jokes apart, people have tremendous faith on Modi and his works are appreciated across the globe with very few criticisms here and there.  In this scenario, the move of Devegowda is a pure blunder.

Another thought, what would have been the best way to handle the situation for JDS? No doubt, JDS was in a decisive position. Kumaraswamy should have negotiated with BJP and would have grabbed chance to erase the taints of 2008 from the people's mind. Would have got some parliamentary seats also to fight and ministerial birth in the central cabinet. By this the JDS would have contributed to the development of Karnataka so much so that for JDS the future is secured. With the cooperation from central government,  JDS would have got chance to prove itself and do something good for Karnataka,  make a place in people's heart. This is the second time JDS has lost chance of being a major player in Karnataka.

Knowing the mind of Devegouda, looking forward to  change the line and join BJP :D
