A young, dynamic and promising Congress leader in Karnataka. Being the second son of the talented former Chief Minister of Karnataka Sri R Gundu Rao has successfully carried the legacy of his father in to social life. Entered in to the active politics by winning the Assembly election in 2004 by margin of 28268 votes. He has also served as the president of youth Congress and proved as an inspiring leader and a great organizer. A three time winner of assembly seat in Karnataka. Successfully handled many portfolios in the government. Currently serving as working president for the party.

The current scenario in the Karnataka politics, Mr. Rao is seen as a prominent future leader of the party. Considering his organizing skills he has been chosen to strengthen the party. However, it’s a hard task for him this time to keep the momentum in Karnataka. The anti-incumbency and the popularity of Sri Narendra Modi can be a challenge to the party. Though there are achievements, but few negative incidents like DK Ravi, Ganapathi death cases and some incidents hurting Hindu sentiments may affect the party adversely this time. It’s the hard nut to crack this time for the young leaders like Dinesh Gundu Rao.
